At the center of UGANET’s interventions is diligent service to vulnerable and marginalized groups. Through creative programming, UGANET has addressed several risk factors that continually increase susceptibility to poor health outcomes in healthcarefacilities, communities and in households such as barriers to equitable access to services, societal exclusion, stigma and discrimination domestic and intimate partner violence, deprivation of property rights, denial of control over bodily integrity and sexual reproductive health rights.

These Target groups are Persons Living with HIV (PLHIV), Women and Girls, Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC), Persons with Disability (PWD), Palliative Care Patients, Prisoners, Sex workers and other Key populations.

Since its existence, UGANET has championed the voice of human rights based approaches to Health and HIV and thus carried out a number Advocacy campaigns and access to justice initiatives that have contributed to supporting vulnerable persons but also influencing policy change in response to HIV/AIDS.
